Average human reaction time to a visual cue sits around 250 ms. Here's the rough map most testers land on:

Reaction time is one slice of hand-eye coordination — the fast-response slice. When you catch a ball, dodge, or return a serve, your eyes spot the cue and your hands answer. The quicker that answer lands, the more time you have for the next move. For a visual cue, under 200 ms is excellent, 200–250 ms is good, and 250–300 ms is about average for a healthy adult. Most people sit in that 200–300 ms band; athletes and gamers who train it often land lower.
Train the visual-motor loop with online and offline drills — rhythm trainers, reaction-ball catches, table tennis, and short daily reaction tests. Sleep, hydration, and a warm-up also help. Five to ten minutes most days beats a rare long session.
They overlap but differ. Reaction time is how fast you answer one cue. Hand-eye coordination is the bigger loop of seeing, deciding, and moving — it also covers accuracy, tracking, and timing. Faster reactions help, but coordination needs the rest too.
Around 250 ms for a visual stimulus, about 170 ms for an audio cue, and roughly 150 ms for a touch. Age, fatigue, and practice all shift these. This test measures the visual reaction time most people mean by "reaction speed."
It tends to slow after the mid-20s, but training and fitness blunt it. Older athletes and gamers often out-react younger people who never practice the loop. Keeping it exercised matters more than avoiding fast tasks.
